Art
Sarah works in the mediums of both old-school & digital photography, watercolor & acrylic painting, and costume creation with found objects & fabric. She has won awards for her avant garde costume design, with ‘Record Cape’ made of sculpted, melted, vinyl records and sequins. Her UV photography series was made into textiles & clothing. Her artwork has been featured in galleries and newspaper stands themselves making mini galleries of her work. Sarah has taught many children and adults performing and creative arts, in the U.S. and overseas where she used creativity as a learning modality for developing ESL camps throughout Europe. Her outdoor prayer flags interactive art piece was commissioned by a cancer center where she also created an art menu for the chemotherapy patients and their loved ones. She offers mask-making and other creative & crafty afternoon workshops occasionally as fundraising for community non-profits when she's feeling physically capable. Creating coloring books were part of her recent curative post-operative odyssey. “Being creative, making art- a little every day when I can- and being in nature are truly the only things that keep me sane in the face of living with this disorder.” Visit the LDS4 page for more information about the disorder that impacts Sarah's life & art.
