Songs included represent an eclectic combination of melodic vocals, drums, heavy bass & harmonies. “It was created the month after my third major surgery in a year, while recovering in my bed. So many of the songs developed from an inability to breathe deeply and really belt things out. That left more room for invention, and I ended up harmony-heavy and combining songs I had written in a specific genre, like bluegrass, to be bent into electronica and with beats & bass in ways I hadn’t expected to. Another limitation was my almost fanatical belief that the melodies my lyrics were born with must stay eternally. But what I found through my tuckered and healing physical/mental state was that it was sometimes easier to just roll with whatever worked after rest & tea, and the songs ended up always being better than I had originally intended. I’m excited to share this piece of my audible healing.”

NEXT ALBUM SONG COLLECTION

Sarah is currently recording her next album, an original songs collection of works inspired by wild nature, ex’s, bad vibes & good memories. “It's a multi-genre album dedicated to my family for helping me on my health journey and includes songs from the last 30 plus years. It will be nice to get all these songs I’ve been writing & saving finally out there”

BARN MUSICAL

During her day to day healing Sarah composes and writes for her musical, ‘A Living Will’. A semi-autobiographical story of an outsider artist growing up and discovering she has a debilitating genetic disorder, her variant so rare only she has it, prompting her to examine mortality, creatively. “It's a ‘play’ on how many times a month I'm asked if I have a Living Will on file at the Doctors office in case I die or go into a coma. After a year of this it starts to feel a little personal, after 5 years an inside joke with God. Now I realize I better answer with more authority. A resounding ‘Fuck yeah I have a living will, a strong one!’ Sarah is currently having her barn converted into a theatre space & with help from fellow artist volunteers, will be workshopping there & in the Granary Guesthouse which doubles as the Recording Studio/Healing Spa.
